If you have an anxiety disorder, and OCD is an anxiety disorder, then you might want to consider the relationship between caffeine intake and your brain disorder. As a side note, while getting an eye exam last week, the subject of anxiety came up in relationship to the eyes. During that conversation he related to me a study in England of schizophrenics. It turned out that many of those in the study drank large amounts of coffee, 12 cups or more a day. When they discontinued caffeine intake, their schizophrenia went away and they became normal functioning humans. I have noticed among al ot of ocders, and experienced myself, fears of being schizoid. In my case I think the reason for this fear was due to caffeine intake. That was not the only fear it created but it was a notable one. Caffeine sensitivity should not be overlooked when dealing with anxiety disorders. Just because most people can "handle" caffeine doesn’t mean all of us can. That was one of my false beliefs, that if others could do something, I should be able to do it also. Eliminating caffeine may not be a magic bullet but not eliminating it if you are sensitive to caffeine will surely keep you in the grips of ocd. All the meds and CBT will be of little value is such cases. There may be other chemical sensitivities but the caffeine family, coffee, tea, and chocolate or any stimulants are the most common. — Take care of your "self". whatatrip rbol…@eburg.com —–= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =—– http://www.newsfeeds.com – The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! —–== Over 80,000 Newsgroups – 16 Different Servers! =—–

Whatatrip Well done, for a very good post. I have been thinking along those lines myself and believe, like you, that caffeine only adds to anxiety, hence worse OCD. smurf whatatrip <rbol…@eburg.com> wrote in message
