<snip> Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I’ve got it. It’s mixes especially well with my depression for a flavorful cocktail that goes down smoother than a long island iced tea – and no hangover!!! <note extreme sarcasm>

Adam "4"…as I read your post…I got irritated…until I realized what you were trying to do. VERY good, My friend. I found myself thinking about how "it" is for kids in school…trying to write something… a composition, for example. Your illustration is quite good……imagine how it would be to a child with some similar obsession…..whether it’s numbers or not..perhaps thoughts…getting "stuck" and trying to explain it to a teacher. An awful lot of depressives do. I do to a small extent, but my main problem is that I obsess, thinking the same thought over and over, or doing the same repetitive act over and over. That’s one of the signs I use to recognize I’m slipping into a depression, but of coure I don’t always recognize it in time. So if you see me in here every night, posting the same post again and again, you might let me know that I need to do a self-evaluation.
How many others obsess on a single thought for hours at a time, getting nothing of value done? DC

I have suffered from OCD most of my life. I was diagnosed with OCD and anxiety disorder about 10 years ago. Despite being on Prozac and Klonopin, I still feel that I am going to die. I get extremely anxious to a point of an inability to funcation. I will get short of breath, my head will throb. Does anyone else feel this way? I am getting extremely concerned.

Hi, Anthony – this sounds like *classic* anxity/panic, to me. Obviously, your medication isn’t working properly, so it sounds like it’s time to pop back to your doctor and ask for a modified treatment regime. I *hate* saying this, as it flies in the face of how we feel when this happens, but your symptoms *are* common and *not* dangerous. Please do go and get more help – it can certainly be brought under control
Good luck! — Gary Cooper
Response:
The symptoms are dangerous in one sense. If everything one does is painful because of extreme agitation, then why bother to do anything – even if the pain is not dangerous . And if you don’t want to do anything, that is dangerous. It’s called avoidance and it grows.Coo…@wordshop.demon.co.uk (Gary Cooper) wrote: – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->In article <33ED0121.50902…@earthlink.net> > li…@earthlink.net "Anthony Linsk" writes: >> I have suffered from OCD most of my life.
