In the Matter of: Shawn Ellis, Dependent Minor Child, (Franklin County Children Services, Complainant-Appellee, Carla Richardson, Respondent-Appellant). In the Matter of: Kimberly Davis, Dependent Minor Child, (Franklin County Children Services, Complainant-Appellee, Carla Richardson, Respondent-Appellant). No. 99AP-725, No. 99AP-726 COURT OF APPEALS OF OHIO, TENTH APPELLATE DISTRICT, FRANKLIN                                      COUNTY 2000 Ohio App. LEXIS 849 March 9, 2000, Rendered The magistrate’s findings of fact, adopted by the trial court in toto, include the following. As indicated above, the children were initially removed from the home because they were being sexually abused by a boarder, who was ultimately convicted and incarcerated. Appellant did not believe her children when they told her about the abuse and she let the boarder remain in the home for some six weeks after the children’s removal. When the children were removed, the home was in "deplorable and filthy" condition. Domestic violence and alleged "satanic [*9] occult practices" were commonplace. Appellant was suffering from some mental and emotional problems. Mr. Davis, who no longer resided in the home, had serious alcohol and drug problems and was periodically absent from the family.(Decision at 6.) The initial case plan required appellant to undergo psychological testing. Dr. Douglas Pawlarczyk, a clinical psychologist, examined appellant and diagnosed her with an anxiety disorder, and a mixed borderline, avoidant, and self-defeating personality disorder. The latter disorder is a "long-term characteristic of her personality that affects her level of functioning." Another psychologist evaluated appellant in May 1995 and reached similar conclusions. By the time of trial, Dr. Pawlarczyk testified that he would have serious concerns regarding appellant’s ability to provide consistent and appropriate care for the children and her ability to protect them from future abuse. He testified that there had been little improvement since the first assessment and that appellant’s chronic problems would require long-term therapy lasting longer than one year. (Id., 6-7, 14.) Appellant’s case plan included substantial counseling to improve her [*10] emotional and mental health, and to appreciate her children’s needs. In addition to the psychological assessments, appellant saw six different counselors during the pendency of the proceedings. After being in counseling for over three years, appellant continued to deny what happened to her children and claimed an inability to remember the abuse. There was even testimony that appellant could not recall taking blood and hair from the children as part of satanic rituals.  (Id. at 7.) http://curio_5_.tripod.com/Ellisct.html Before you buy.

Okay, I’ll bite since I am wide awake and bored *chuckle* Domestic violence and alleged "satanic [*9] occult practices" were commonplace.

This is vague at best.  One could say all violent crimes are based on Satanic beliefs if the person so wishes to claim it so.  But basically it comes down to the fact that the crimes being committed are evil whether Satan influenced or not. On a side note I am not sure where you are going with these posts unless you are suggesting that ppl here who are practicing Wiccans or Pagans are Satanic.  If this is so it is off base since they do not believe in Satan which is a construct of Christianity. Dr. Douglas Pawlarczyk, a clinical psychologist, examined appellant and diagnosed her with an anxiety disorder, and a mixed borderline, avoidant, and self-defeating personality disorder.

This clearly states that the woman was mentally unbalanced.  This does not suggest Satanism but rather a very unhealthy woman who needs medical care. After being in counseling for over three years, appellant continued to deny what happened to her children and claimed an inability to remember the abuse. There was even testimony that appellant could not recall taking blood and hair from the children as part of satanic rituals.

Emotion and physical trama can lead to blocking of memories.  It is possible that she got caught up in something evil but b/c of the pain of the memories she has blocked them.  Natural defense mech.  One wonders what type of satanic rituals were used and what type of background the user came from. Meaning what path did the instigature follow.  Satan? or some other evil being.  Just b/c vile things were done in the attempt for further power and abuse does not make it something of satanism.  In fact my limited understanding of Satanism (the religion) does not support these types of evil.  However popular culture Satanism certainly might lead these misguided ppl down a dark path.  But I suggest to you that these ppl were distrubed before even walking that path. Light, love and laughter, True
