You psychiatrist lied to you and you should be ashamed.  Why do you think it is o.k. to do drugs when all you had to do was stop masturbating? Lily ———————————————————– Got questions?  Get answers over the phone at Keen.com. Up to 100 minutes free! http://www.keen.com

I hope you’re joking.  If one of those gets within ten miles of my willy, I’ll pass out!  That’s not a quick end to masturbation, that’s S&M. Damn, that hurts thinking about it. Calvin "Monica" <monica_…@mailcity.com> wrote in message

If you need a quick end to masturbation, try a Kali’s teeth bracelet (see www.tpe.com).  My son wears one and it worked instantly, though it does give you a sore willy for a few days when you are new to it. Monica Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

While I don’t happen to believe in God or a religion, I can understand your feelings.  My mother raised me as a Catholic.   I think one of the most psychologically damaging things you can do to someone is to make them feel bad about something that they cannot help (as in your compulsive thoughts case). When I used to suffer from OCD (I still do a little bit during times of extreme stress) I too would have compulsive sexual thoughts.  My obsession was that I would blurt out highly sexual things in the classroom.   This made it difficult to speak up in class.  I remember that I used to hope that I would not be called on to read a text outloud (I still don’t like how teachers do this, though). >visited a Psychiatrist and they place me on a SSRI within a weak I >became a new person. All those wasted years and shame.  Preachers >should talk to people about Serotonin than preaching guilt.

I know how you feel, on both counts.  I remember the first time I was on Luvox — I recall being so surprised that a person could be as happy as I was.  I was on top of the world.   In addition, my mother used to chastise me for cleaning the house too much (compulsive neatness was my main symtom).  She would actually make me feel bad for my compulsions.  Then again, that woman has problems that are far beyond the scope of this newsgroup. Enjoy your new life.  I suggest to you too that while drugs are highly effective, you may wish to start counseling so you can learn some non-drug therapies like thought stopping processes and deep relaxation techniques.   Relying on pills your whole life is no fun in my opinion.  Don’t rush it, though.  It took me two years of using the SSRI’s to be able to get to the point where I could handle it on my own. — Aaron Shaver

you seem to be trying to speak in biblical context, but clearly have no idea what you are dribbling… if you want to speak biblically, then YES YOU ARE A SINNER. and so am i and everyone else. we should all repent and acknowledge the lord jesus christ as our saviour and sanctifier. not for me thanks. do you believe that? preachers preach the word of god. when your actions (like masturbating) don’t line up with the word of god, then you are deemed a sinner and should repent. living in sin is evil. that is why is says in the bible something like: ‘if your right hand sins, then you should cut it off.’ a little extreme don’t you think? or are you a hypocrite? i really think you are confused, very confused.

Response:

I thought this was due to me being a sinner and the lack of devotion to God.   The guilt I had to carry for so many years.  Finally I visited a Psychiatrist and they place me on a SSRI within a weak I became a new person. All those wasted years and shame.  Preachers should talk to people about Serotonin than preaching guilt.

compulsive masturbation and intrusive sexual thoughts! OCD?? or the Devil!! again i must add…you ask ocd or the devil? if you are speaking in the biblical sense and like labeling yourself then the ocd is the devils work in you. you need to call upon the almighty power of jesus christ to rid you of your demons. i am not religious, but thats what you’d have to do. :)
