LUVOX?? Any good?
Question:
Hi. Could you just fill me in on what CBT stands for? Hi. Could you just fill me in on what CBT stands for? Mark, CBT stands for "cognitive behavioral therapy". A lot of people find that if they have OCD that medicine by itself will alleve some or all of their OCD rituals. So what a lot of physicians will do is enlist the OC patient with therapy in which they will learn techniques in order to prevent those rituals or at least minimize them. JP

Hi, I also take the "Seroquel-Luvox combination" and I’ve found it to help a lot with obsessive thoughts (which are the main symptoms of OCD that I get). I’m also on Adderall XR for ADD and Wellbutrin SR for depression. Those medications have also helped me function better. I find that if I can focus better I’m not as apt to drift and obsess, and if I’m feeling good about things in general then I’m less likely to let something bother me as much. So for me all of these medications work together. I’ve not really had any notable side-effects to any so far. I did notice a big difference when I added the Seroquel and Luvox to my pharmacy.
Mark P.S. – I’d say to just give it time and see if you notice a real effect. And of course stay in close contact with your prescriber.

I’ve heard that Wellbutrin SR added to an ssri can help two things: 1. It helps with libedo from the ssri affects of the sex drive. 2. It keeps the ssri from pooping out. My doc also put me on Geodon which he told me small doses of this is like jet fuel for an ssri. I think seroquel is also a good solid med for obsessional thinking.

I had pretty good luck with luvox. It is the best for sexual side effects as far as I was concerned. Best for overall side effects. I am now on Lexapro and I am happy with this as well. Staggy

Finding an antidepressant/anti-obsessional that works is a crap shoot. What might work for you might not work for someone else. In general, Luvox is a great anti-obsessional but medications react with everyone differently so you will have to wait and see. I’ve had other meds help me a lot (Paxil, Pamalor) but I didn’t like the side effects. Other meds didn’t help me much but others swear by them. I’m starting Luvox myself to see if it helps any more than the others without side effects. NK "Just Bob" <Pills4i…@yahoo.com> wrote in message
