WEEKLY MINI-FAQ Insert Nov. 24th 1998
Question:
WEEKLY MINI-FAQ Insert Nov. 24th 1998 There is a channel on EFNET called #anx/pan. The anx/pan channel started on EFNET around 4 years ago. We moved the channel over to Dalnet and was intact for about a year. There was a disagreement on Dalnet, and the people, mostly the long standing people that had moved the channel to Dalnet MOVED back to EFNET. So there are actually 2 channels on IRC. I can’t speak for the Dalnet channel, but the EFNET channel deals with PD.. GAD…OCD..AGORAPHOBIA..DEPRESSION..ADD, ect.. The main objective is to give and receive support and info for yourself, and anyone that maybe a support person. We are not the "Arm" of ASAP, just a group of people working towards getting better and dealing with these disorders. If you are interested in IRC Chat and Support, you may want to try both channels and see which will suit your needs. We meet every day, usually around 7-8 pm EST until whenever
For the West Coast, we are on until 9-10pm (EST 1:00am). Take care and well wishes. If you need instructions on how to get to Peace, Linda W

Linda, I’ve been on the Dalnet one and it’s ALWAYS empty no matter what time of day or night I check it. It’s been abandoned. Before you post like you did above, it might be worth it to check out both sites for activity beforehand so that you don’t mislead those who need the help. For what it’s worth, I hang out a lot on Dalnet and keep an eye on #anx/pan group and there is a second one #anxiety/depression both which have been empty for months. If I see any of you enter the Dalnet room, I’d be glad to join you in there. When you get on Dalnet, do a who on Jokester– and see if I’m there. Happy Thanksgiving to One and All Max

This is complete rubbish. The Dalnet channel is open every night, and has been for months. It opens around 7pm US Eastern time (midnight GMT, 1am CET, and 4pm PST). The channel name is #anx/pan, and plenty of other people seem to get there every night without difficulty. Before you post like you did above, it might be worth it to check out both sites for activity beforehand so that you don’t mislead those who need the help.
You would do well to follow your own advice in this case. For what it’s worth, I hang out a lot on Dalnet and keep an eye on #anx/pan group and there is a second one #anxiety/depression both which have been empty for months.
AFAIAA, #anxiety&depression is also alive and well, although if you are using a / instead of an & you will not of course see it. If I see any of you enter the Dalnet room, I’d be glad to join you in there. When you get on Dalnet, do a who on Jokester– and see if I’m there. Happy Thanksgiving to One and All Max
I suggest that you check your setup before making sweeping and totally false allegations! — Jon Guite When replying by email, please remove the trailing x from my return address

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Hello Max; I’m on the #anx/pan channel (on Dalnet), usually 4-6 nights per week. There are almost always 4-8 or so people on. This is between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm EST. Sometimes we talk until midnight EST. Make sure you get on dalnet St Louis, MO. Didn’t Jackie have some trouble, arriving to an empty room? Then we figured out something (don’t remember what) and now she finds us, just fine. — Kiesha
Hi Kiesha, Last week, two nights in a row, when I got to the room there was no one there. I kept trying every half hour. I thought you guys were hiding on me<VBG. Jon, told me to change my channel, which solved the problem immediately. See you tonight
Jackie

According to Dalnet, you haven’t been there since the 19th – I would hardly call that hanging out a lot. Both channels you mention are currently up and running as normal. — Jon Guite When replying by email, please remove the trailing x from my return address
