Response:
I have had OCD for over 7 years. I have finally come to terms with it, own it, have learned to handle symptoms (most of the time). I believe the secret is finally acknowledging you have this disorder, learning coping skills, and stopping ritual behavior in its tracks. I know it’s alot easier said than done….believe me. But, don’t give up, I’m living proof that it does get better. I went from the absolute bottom with severe depression due to disabling OCD symptoms to living a very happy life where I can cope with almost anything. The other thing is to know your limits. For me germs are my worry, therefore I avoid large crowds when possible, BUT DON’T AVOID ALTOGETHER, if you start avoiding routinely you only acknowledge the fear. Learn your limits, and live with in them. Would love to talk with anyone dealing with this disabling disorder. Kit dolph…@teleport.com
