Honesty

Question:

Hey Mark, maybe you are just an honest guy and it’s not the TS after all. I feel the same way.  I don’t like people changing the rules in the middle of the game.  Maybe it is the ts.  Or, ocd.  It is supposed to be a certain way and if someone else changes things, you go ballistic.  This happens to my kids all the time.  I like to think there are just SOME honest people left in the world. Welcome back Mark.  Nanci

Response:

As much as I dislike having TS there are a few good points. One of which is the symptom of the tendency to overfocus on moral issues, i.e. Right and wrong, fair, unfair, etc. The reason I bring this issue up is that tonight I was painfully made aware of just how immoral a very large percentage of the population of this country really is. I do real estate investing as a profession. Yesterday I agreed to pay another investor a specific price for a house. We agreed that he would recieve his commission at the closing and not before. Tonight he called to inform me that I would have to take $1,000.00 ernest money to the title company on Monday. He also said that if I could not do so that he was going to accept the offer of another investor that would pay him about $800.00 more than I offered. During our initial conversation when we made the agreement he never mentioned this stipulation. The bottom line here is that when he realized he could make $800.00 more he decided to start putting requirements into the deal after the fact in an effort to force me to pull out. I finally got mad and told him to stick his house up his ass. I don’t play games like this. When I make an agreement to do something you can take it to the bank. When I give my word it’s as good as a written contract to me. I may not like having TS but there are a few definite benefits though. This is an area where the rest of society could benefit from us. Please excuse me for being long winded. I’m just blowing off steam from being so angry. Mark
