Luvox for Anxiety??
Question:
My Dr just gave me a prescrption for Luvox for an axiety problem, however, after looking it up on the net, it would appear that it is primarily used to treat OCD. Has any one else used Luvox to treat anxiety, and how did it work out? Thanks Geoff

I was prescribed Luvox for OCD and depression two years ago, with an increase in dosage about six months ago. I’ve been fairly satisfied [never happy, right?:)] with its effect on my depression, although I see little difference in my OC behaviour. About 3 months ago I started having nightsweats, and gradually, it’s to the point where my stomach is in knots when I wake up each morning. Usually if I don’t want to get up it’s because I need more sleep, but now my heart’s pounding when I wake so I can’t go back to sleep if I want to. Sometimes the feeling goes away, and I can usually distract myself, but other times I just feel sick. I was hoping maybe my "downswing" is over and these symptoms are because my dosage is too high now. (Is getting lost two blocks from your own house a side effect of Luvox?) Wishful thinking? I’ve got an appt. next week to discuss this with doc. Lori : A friend is on Luvox. It is working where many other antidepressants did not.
