I totally agree with what John said earlier. We aren’t here to fight with eachother. This is NOT the forum for the way you guys have been acting. There are hurting souls who write and read these posts. I’ve only been here for a week and I cannot believe how you all have been acting. If you want to continue on *flaming* eachother, set-up your own newsgroup. This one’s called *alt.support.ocd*, in case you forgot. —

Jeff (and John), I whole-heartedly agree that WE should all try to make this a better place to discuss OCD, and I wish it could be so, but the cold truth is that this is an unmoderated group, and there are SO many skeletons in the closet here that what John suggested will never happen. As an alternative, I go to Fairlite (www.fairlite.com/cgi-bin/ocdgiveboard). I would go to ASOM, but unfortunately there is little more there than fluff there (e.g., something like 15 birthday wishes for Simon). My advice is to take from here what you can and leave the rest. Ironically, Tom Luby, the person who has been accused of being one of the biggest flamers here (not a gay reference Tom!), is one of the more knowledgable people on the subject of OCD. Secondly, I am Michelle, Jeff’s wife, who sent the post. I am in dire need of some support of my OCD and can’t believe that people would do what has been going on in here. You can say and call me whatever you want. I want to be here to support people who have trouble. I think your original intention was to do the same. Michelle

Well, Tom is about the only person who is truly vicious. You will no doubt find things you agree with and things you do not agree with and debate can get heated but they are far more civil. Six, actually, six. In the last week three new posters and one previous one have written seeking advice and got it. Another poster who no longer posts in this group because of things Mr. Luby said talked about a very important upcoming event in her life and got support.
