Scratching Walls
Question:
Does anyone have any experience with adolescense having an obsession with scratching even the tiniest spots off the wall? This goes for the carpet as well. The scratching is done mostly at night and actually leads to small holes being made in the wall. Is this a recognized symptom of OCD? Regards, PA

I had a brother who used to do that and picked huge holes in the wall. Better than picking holes in his face, no?

My sister used to poke dozens of holes in her face. No acne, just thought/felt pimples were there. Twas terrible. Meds finally helped her from doing this. She looked terrible. ———–== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==———- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

YES!
Much better! But, would you say this is a sign of OCD? It appears to be to me. My big concern (and moreso for my wife) is the use of meds to correct this. When my son was on Ritilan and/or Welbutrin, he developed some TERRIBLE ticks. It had us VERY concerned, but they went away when we stopped the meds. To typical OCD meds usually come with the same side effects? I know the Ritilan and Wellbutrin were stimulants as opposed to the anti-depressants we usually see perscribed for OCD. Thanks, PA
