Not only is my name not relevant to this discussion, it would be foolish for me to reveal it in this forum.  This should be readily apparent. Certain things should always be done under anonymity, such as posting ultracontraversial viewpoints to public forums, revenge, etc. Maintaining a double (triple?) life is very important to me, and nothing I would compromise in order to satisfy your petty curiosity. You know, you have an interesting technique there, though it lacks true subtlety. You’re very good at finding out a person’s hot subjects then going for the throat – sometimes after a period of good natured banter. Presumably that’s to suck in a few of the more wary souls. :) ) (Nutmegger is obviously one of the ones who can enjoy what you have to ‘offer’ without being unduly troubled by your popping into attack mode.)  You like to present yourself as a boundary pusher, someone who thinks it’s his role to make other ‘think’ (as long as their thoughts fall into line with yours, of course). Unfortunately, though your arguments are facile, they’re without depth. What does surprise me is that you haven’t exhausted this pool of nibbling fishes yet! The question <rhetorical> I have is what motivates someone like you?  You’re a zealot but I don’t see that you’re really trying to convert others to your way of thinking. Your methods are far too abrasive for that and you enjoy telling them they are too stupid to understand. I see you as being primarily a stirrer and here to enjoy yourself in your own rather odd way. I wonder what you’re like among your friends and family?  Lack of self-confidence oozes from most posts you make in here. Before my eyes were opened to the true nature of reality, I was not entirely unlike some of the wretched excuses for human beings you find slithering around this forum (as was not quite as pathetic as the majority of them, mind you.  Just not entirely unsimilar). Then, I had an epiphany.  My eyes were opened to the fact that all of the religion, ethics, propaganda, etc. I had been force fed my entire life was utter crap.  I will be forever grateful to those who opened my eyes to these Truths, and feel somewhat obligated to give a little back to those less fortunate than I.  You can think of me as the Mother Theresa of Usenet. > You’re a zealot but I don’t see that you’re really trying to convert > others to your way of thinking.

I am not looking for converts or followers.  Once you have recognized Truth, it will not matter how unpleasant or abrasive the source of it is.  Those who pick their beliefs based upon packaging and sales jobs are pathetic fuckheads whom I have no desire to associate with. > Your methods are far too abrasive for that and you enjoy > telling them they are too stupid to understand.

Yep, after the initial uproar she did withdraw.  I still wonder if she was for real or just a psychology student playing a game.   Gosh, does her boyfriend still wear his hat in bed? >I am the dupe who posted the resply that prompted the response from >rec.gambling.craps. You’re right. I didn’t notice the cross-post before I >replied to sub’s post, or else I would have deleted the other group.

Don’t kick yourself … I posted to that branch of the thread myself which is why I was so angry last night.   Too bad my newsreader does not flash a message warning something is cross-posted.  Generally I look at the initial post for cross-posts.   For instance, Poopie just started a thread cross-posted to an unrelated group (astrology?) so when I replied, I trimmmed all groups but ASM.   Parenting, ASM and ASD do have some common themes and players but generally cross-posting is not a good idea, especially since some people cannot see there are cross-posted groups (I believe Web-TV is one such reader). >It was the first, last and only time that I ever responded to something that >he wrote. I should have known better.

<Grin>  In my case I try not to respond to Mike Dobony.  While I am delighted he finds such strength in his faith, he is not able to sustain a conversation or debate or even acknowledge other world views. With him, he sees only one view and anyone with another view is wrong … but he is not trolling .. just a tad too closed minded for my tastes. Hmmm, both Dobony and Subversionmania are adamant in their respective positions … one absolutely certain of the existence of God and exactly what his word is (as if to intentionally upset people) and one absolutely certain He does not exist who uses profanity laced arguments to upset people.   Both are into marital arts although one claims no kids and the other claims one … I wonder if they are the same person doing an elaborate troll?   Nah, someone would have slipped by now. >I don’t killfile anyone, but I do have a list of people whose posts I never >read. Yep, I don’t use killfiles myself … when someone on my SL initiates a post I do check to see who is responding … once in a while a thread designed to stir up trouble gets a good conversation going (like when Damian posts his stuff). Floridanewbie

Actually, it worked pretty well with Jill. She stopped posting here shortly after people started ignoring her. She initially had a few supporters from alt.support.ocd engaging in a brief flame war, but it ran out of gas when people refused to continue fueling it. I am the dupe who posted the resply that prompted the response from rec.gambling.craps. You’re right. I didn’t notice the cross-post before I replied to sub’s post, or else I would have deleted the other group. It was the first, last and only time that I ever responded to something that he wrote. I should have known better. I don’t killfile anyone, but I do have a list of people whose posts I never read. I ignore whole threads started by those individuals. As you pointed out, that thread was started by someone else. I’m with you, Floridanewbie. I’ll give no more attention to the whackos.
