Discouraged
Question:
Hi, I’m new of this group and I would appreciate any opinion and advices. My troubles began a year ago, when I had some panic attacks, mainly when I went out with friends and/or at work. However, the P.A. were rather rare, but I was often anxious and I suffered from some psychosomatic troubles. Then I began psychotherapy some months ago; I’ve learnt to better control and eventually accept the PA, and I started again to go out almost each week-end. But, apart from this, I still have lots of psychosomatic troubles (mainly weakness, dizziness, stomach-ache and nausea), I feel very often anxious, and also nervous and excitable. In other words, even if PA are disappearing, the situation is not changed, or maybe it’s getting worse, and some days I feel very very discouraged. I take benzodiazepines (diazepam) but not regularly, only when I feel more anxious or nervous, that is every 2-3 days, and it usually (but not always) calm me. Should I take it every day, even when I don’t feel "too" bad? Thanks Marcel

What you may need instead is something to stabilize you. Possibly an SSRI. Have you asked your doctor about it? This would be the first place to start. Hope that helps, Lee A little snogging goes a long way… <EG
