Hello everyone
Question:
I have been dealing with panic for a long time. I am interested in talking with other with the same conditions and what you do to deal with it. Tink
I don’t have specific things to do for panic other than try to keep in mind that it isn’t fatal even if you think you are dying and feel like you are dying. Panic attacks can hit me like a mugger attacking from behind sometimes knocking me right off my feet for several seconds or it can be a steady build up from anxiety that really gets out of hand. In this latter case, I take my Clonazepam and try to relax by focusing on other things. If I am at home, it could be turning on the TV and looking at that or listening to soothing music. If however I am not at home, I try to get myself out of the place where the panic is happening as quickly as possible. If I feel the attack coming I try to concentrate on something, anything that I can focus on and talk to myself telling myself that this is only panic and it will go away, if I am patient. I will read product labels, hum tunes, stare at the ceiling as it doesn’t matter what distraction I use as long as it takes my focus away from what is bothering me. If this doesn’t work, I get myself out of there. Certain fluorescent lighting and odours are real triggers for me where escape is my only recourse. Hi, Tink, Welcome to ASAPM! I have an anxiety disorder and depression. I take meds and have seen a therapist. The meds have helped me come a long way from my days of agoraphobia. I do a lot of self-positive talk and reassuring myself that I have been in a situation before and made it through and I can do it again. The worst I deal with now is a driving phobia. I allowed anxiety to get the best of me in this area and have a limited driving safe space. Avoiding caffeine helps me also. Too much caffeine and I get jittery and then the anxiety sets right in. smiles,, Elise

I’ve been dealing with panic disorder for over 25 years. The two things that have helped me the most are medication and cognitive behavioral therapy. What treatments have you tried so far? Are you also agoraphobic? Take care

Maybe euphoric was too strong a word. I was feeling normal which is euphoric to me
I just felt calm and able to focus. I have been taking Lexapro for a few days now and I think having the anxiety cease has caused me to just decompress. I have been sleeping well and just taking it easy. Nothing much bothers me. My sex drive taper down after a few days. — The charter is available at:
