Welcome, Dr Sarafi!  (You are not the only one here in the medical profession, btw)   Have you had anxiety long, or just developed recently? Hi, I’m new here too.  I’m new here and am spending some time to get used to the NG.  I’ve been reading different posts getting a feel for the forum.  I went to the gallery and have been matching up names with faces.  I’ve gotten alot of encouragement from my first post, nice people here. welcome, Al.

Hello Brian. I do not recall reading any of your posts. Are you hiding? :) I just wanted to say hello and I hope that the medication will bring you some relief. Paula (Zedexa) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Welcome! Just curious, what is your specialty? If you want to share that is. I’m not surprised at all that medical professionals are also victims of panic/anxiety. They are human too. I worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in NY for 8 years with the worst panic attacks and extreme anxiety everyday. None of it really from my work. Oddly, the adrenaline rush that I would get on an emergency call would actually help me….as strange as it was. Shouldv’e been the opposite, yet I thrived on it. I eventually left that field and now work for a computer equipment company as a service technician. The stress is actually more in this field. After years of not having panic attacks anymore I recently (2.5 months ago) started getting them again when I developed a bad sinus infection which resisted antibiotic therapy and subsequently I had Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. I felt aweful for 2 months both before and after the surgery although the infection cleared up from the surgery and I could breath better. I then ended up with depression, perhaps as a result of feeling lousy with the sinusitis. I was just given Paxil to try by my MD. I will give it a shot and see what happens but I’ve always been a "no-meds-for-me" kind of guy. However, my depression has reached the point where it is serverly impacting my ability to work….and I cant have that. Need to bring home the bacon! Anyways, sorry for the long note. Welcome…come by and vent, talk, read, laugh! Brian C.
