My mom's in the hospital

Question:

I hope and pray your mom is ok.  God be with you and your family. – Spoon.

Response:

Thanks, everyone, for your words of comfort and encouragement.  My mom’s doing better today.  She’s not out of the woods yet, but it’s certainly much better than a couple of days ago.  At least when I leave the hospital at night I don’t feel like I’ll never see her again. Please continue to pray that she’ll be able to overcome all the difficult days ahead.  Thanks! Sharon

Response:

Hi everyone, I haven’t posted in over a week.  Last Thursday my mom had a massive stroke and a mild heart attack and has been in ICU.  I’ve been there every day for at least 8 hours and I’m exhausted. Things are looking a bit better today.  Last night we really thought we were going to lose her because she was unresponsive and her MRI showed increased swelling in the brain.  However, today she miraculously opened her eyes for the first time and has been able to communicate much better.  Her neurologist says she believes she’s turned a corner and might continue to get better now, but it’s still so uncertain and things could change at any time. I’m so glad now that I needed to go back on Paxil 2 months ago.  I don’t know what kind of basket case I would have been the past few days if I hadn’t had some meds to help me through.  I’ve also taken xanax a few times during the real rough spots.  I’m glad to say that I’m doing okay as far as anxiety.  At least I haven’t gone over the edge and have been able to function. For those of you who believe in the power of prayer, I would appreciate it if you could remember my mom.  Her name is Betty. Thanks, Sharon

Thank goodness you didn’t have to deal with panic attacks at this serious time without any meds. For those of you who believe in the power of prayer, I would appreciate it if you could remember my mom.  Her name is Betty. I will surely include your mom in my prayers tonight, it won’t be hard for me to remember her name because that’s my mom’s name to.  I know it’s an especially bad time for you right now but please try to remember to take care of yourself also so you don’t get over stressed.

Best Wishes,Barb

Dear Sharon,     I’m so glad to hear from your last post that your Mother’s prognosis is improving and that you are standing strong with your meds and prayers. I just prayed for you both and will continue to hold you up in my prayers. Sandr

Response:

Sharon,  I’ll say a prayer for your mom. I went through a similar situation with my dad. Massive hemorrage, weeks in ICU, long rehab. He lived, and I hope your mom pulls through this, too. Take good care of yourself!        Di
