OT unofficial question of the day – Dec 29

Question:

No smoke here either, although my last ride home from PA I had a lot of urges to buy a pack.

Hey, Tono — that is great!  Good for you, ignoring those urges.  I know how difficult this is. Keep up the great work. (and it *is* work at times) xxoo Anne — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

Response:

oh ok — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

Response:

…and how’s the smoking going for you?  I am still smoke free. smiles, Elise

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Congrats, Tono!  You’re doing a terrific job… smiles, Elise Thanks Elise.  It’s easy 99.99% of the time, it’s those 0.01% times that can be very difficult. Tono Have you learned anything in this past year (2005) that you can use to improve yourself, or make your life better? Chip Oh yeah. 2005 has been a year of true personal growth for me.  I learned that I did not need alcohol.  I stopped drinking and running from my life and have learned how to face it and have learned to LIVE my life instead of trying to hide from it in a can of beer. Glad to hear about all the personal growth.  I also hid inside a bottle of beer or whiskey, for about 25 years.  New years day was my "birthday", 4 years sober and still lot’s to learn.         Yes!  I had several job losses, but now I have a job I wasn’t sure I could ever get, or maybe handle.  I feel much better knowing I can handle that, and learn some things from it all too.  I never thought I could sell, but I can.  Now I see that I can handle engineering work fine, even after my 6 years of absence from it.   After the shape I was in two years ago, it’s hard to believe!  I’m so glad.   Dennis — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

I have learned not to fear the symptoms of panic attacks.  Now they don’t bother me much at all. :-) Now if I can only learn not to feel upset by the symptoms of depression I’ll be doing great! ;-) — _TJ_ <TJ_IREL at YAHOO dot IE — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

Chip Ok, here goes…testing this out to see if I can post via my new Supernews account using my new Forte Agent newsreader :-) . This past year I have learned a tremendous amount about myself and others.  The main thing that I am using to change my life in 2006 is not to allow others to use me or hurt me just because I want them to like me.  I am going to simply say no to their requests because they are using me. Dawn

Hi Dawn!  I see you!! Wanting approval of others is normal, but there definitely is a difference between being "nice" and being used and mistreated.  The only opinion about Dawn that matters is Dawn’s.  Setting boundaries is a sane, rational, smart thing to do!  Let us know how you do with this. Hi, Dawn, Good to see you back.  Looks like Forte Agent is working okay. I like what you have written about telling people who want to use you "no". This is one of the best places to start when turning your life around to make your life better for YOU… smiles, Elise – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Ok, here goes…testing this out to see if I can post via my new Supernews account using my new Forte Agent newsreader :-) . I don’t know if this is a good or a bad thing, but the most important thing I learned in the past year is to fear death.  I think it’s a healthy fear, not a ruminating thought.  It’s more like a respect for life instead of the way I lived most of my life… hoping to die. Definitely not to sweat the small stuff.  In a matter of hours or even a day, you’ll see how unimportant the worrying was.  Also being kind to yourself is the best gift you can give yourself and your family. smiles, Elise

Several things come to mind: Round toothpicks are generally better than flat ones. Squash is edible. Room ionizers really do clean the air quite well. Slippers bought at the drug store are just as warm as those bought from a fancy-shmancy boutique. There may be more, but this will do for now.
