What time of year?

Question:

What about me with this thing with the reverse moon?  Any thoughts? Xanman — Xanland – A little insanity in an sane wolf. http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Gallery/9098/ http://members.tripod.com/Xanman22/index.html

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I was wondering if any of you took note of what time of year you feel better or worse. Also if anyone has noticed a difference on a full moon?~! Hi Xan, The full moon definitely affects me, although sometimes I am moodier, and other times happier.  But, I seem to be a little more sensitive during the full moon.    (I hate to work during a full moon though, the hospital is chaos). I can’t even remember my favorite season anymore.  But, I would guess it would be spring and summer now.  It used to be fall. Where I live now, we practically jump from summer to winter….so, fall isn’t the same anymore.  I know it isn’t winter, though. Maria

I live in Florida so I don’t exactly live in the frozen tundra either :] Xanman — Xanland – A little insanity in an sane wolf. http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Gallery/9098/ http://members.tripod.com/Xanman22/index.html

Funny that you should bring up this question… Just lately I’ve started getting my "I don’t think I can make it through/handle another Winter" feelings. I live in Pennsylvania (yes, I realize it’s not the frozen tundra <g)but the stress and anxiety I get from dealing with the cold weather and shorter days (daylight), plus sometimes snow but especially ice and having to drive in it, etc… I hate it!! Wish so much that I could move somewhere where it’s Springish year round, but my immediate family is all in the general area (within 1 hr. drive) so I don’t want to leave that support system. As far as a the moon… Never took notice. Have to try… When’s the next full moon? :o ) -Slicky — Posted via Talkway – http://www.talkway.com Exchange ideas on practically anything ™.

(Xanman) POSTED: What time of year?   I was wondering if any of you took note of what time of year you feel better or worse.  Also if anyone has noticed a difference on a full moon?~!  For me Spring is the happiest time for me. The flowers are blooming and things start to grow. Now that winter is coming I don’t have a replacement for my gardening. Also I have noticed NOT on a full moon but on NO moon at all I think it is called a new moon I feel the worst. Kind of the opposite of the old full moon theory. You could stand to argue also there is more crime on a full moon because there is more light! Anyway I was just wondering what you all thought of this.  Xanman — I always do best in the winter. I can go outside. If it’s 60 degrees or below I’m comfortable. For walking I like the 40’s or below. The late spring and summer keep me under air conditioning and usally inside somewhere other wise my blood pressure goes through the roof. The medicine fact sheet for it says stay out of heat. I also have reactions to yellow jackets and the thought of taking a blister pack of antihistamine for a sting doesn’t help either. That means a week or more of the haze or a washed out feeling. The moon phases don’t hit me one way or the other but when I worked at the nursing home I sure kept track of it. We would have many escapes {can’t blame them I would also} and some behavior you wouldn’t see normally out of some patients.

Xan- Interesting I am definately the worst durring the winter and at my best spring and fall.  I have never thought about the phases of the moons effect on me though.  Will have to check that out.   I have noticed that I am more likely to be a little off before a storm rolls in.  Changing barometric pressure and panic attacks sounds like a government study. October 24th  ;)  Two days after my birthday, which cheers me since like I said, I’m almost always feeling good around the full moon.  Should give me the strength to deal with it.  I don’t mind getting older, it’s just that "your birthday" is so stressful, ya know?  everyone doting on ya and giving you stuff, and like you’re supposed to have a good day, so when it sucks you feel like ya failed…  am I rambling again???  ((Xan)),        I like Fall and Spring the best.  Probably Fall the most because I love to see the leaves change color and the heat from summer is gone for awhile.  I’m not sure if I am effected by the moon.  I’ll have to check this out the next full moon. LYL,  Debby :)

Xanman, Interesting question. I suffer from PA’s, GAD and Recurring Severe Depression. I have always known that my depression is worse during the winter months, although any time of year can be bad. But the depression lasts longer and is worse in the winter. But I never thought about when the anxiety is the worse. You’ve got me intriqued now as I am thinking about this. It does not track with the depression. The anxiety is worse in the Spring. As a matter of fact, that is when I had my first PA at the age of 24. Then I had none until the Spring when I was age 39. And now that I am on a roll here and thinking about it, yes, the depression seems to subside somewhat in Spring, but the anxiety level increases then. I am usually on higher doses of Klonopin in the Spring and early Summer than in Fall and Winter. I don’t know about the moon thing; I’ve never paid any attention to it. I haven’t taken to howling at the full moon, yet, in any case.  ; – ) JaneB

I always feel better on the full moon, of course I’m pagan to the core… so that might explain it, though before I even knew what pagan was, I always did feel better on the full moon. And winter does me in.  Always has – I slept through the winter’s of 85/86, 86/87, 87/88, and 88/89.  (drank and smoked pot through 89/90)  That’s when I’m most suicidal, as well.  I’ve been advised to move south – and ya know the few times I did get a vacation down south in the winters, those winters were definitely better for me, but moving just isn’t a possibility, as much as I’d love to just take off. — Roo.com       http://www.roo.com If it’s true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the OTHERS here for?
